SUMMARY- COURSE OVERVIEW -
Alpine course to the trailhead of Mt. Kazafuki in Northern Alps!
SEASON : July to October
The first half is a ride through an idyllic scene with old farm houses deeply tucked in the mountain, then the second half after crossing the Urakawa bridge is alpine route to the trail head. The finish point is a park Miyama Yuuen Kitano no Sato, with a pleasant pond surrounded by deep mountains. Inhale refreshing air and enjoy the tranquility to the fullest.

Starting point is in front of Nakatsuchi Station, JR Oito line. Warm up sufficiently in preparation for the immediate steep climb.

After the steep climb spreads peaceful pastoral scenery, which is difficult to imagine from the starting point.

After passing a village is a gentle country road. Traffic volume is extremely small, but be aware of the blind corners and slow down.

A stone monument before crossing the Urakawa bridge tells about Mt. Hieda’s tragedy, one of the three major landslides in Japan.

In the latter half awaits alpine course, which includes ridiculously steep climb, maximum gradient of 20%. There are places where the road is narrow and rough so be careful on the descent!

The finish is a park Miyama Yuuen Kitano no Sato. Best place to have "obento" lunch box at the bank of the pond.
