SUMMARY- COURSE OVERVIEW -
Leisurely hillclimb in pastoral area well known for fireflies at the foot of Northern Alps mountain!
SEASON : end of April to October
The course starts off the national highway to the Hakuba Norikura Onsen Ski Resort. Before reaching the resort area is an awesome view with rice terraces spread out in a wide-open hill and white-capped mountain ranges overlooking the paddy. No hurry, best to ride enjoying the scenery and the surrounding atmosphere.

Immediately after the start, a slightly narrow road continues, but after a while the road widens and gets easier.

Tateya area with old folk houses is located at the foot of Hakuba Norikura Ski Resort. Where the farmhouses gather, the climb is somewhat gradual.

Throughout the course there are various viewpoints where the Northern Alps can be seen. The impression changes greatly depending on the season and time of the day.

Rice planting starts in early June and harvests in mid October. The view of the mountains reflected on the surface of the paddy just before the rice planting is also beautiful. Embrace the scenery unique to this area.

In branching points are provided with signs indicating direction and information on the current location.

Chikuni Ohashi Bridge, half way between Hakuba Norikura and Tsugaike Kogen, is the highest point of the course. From here downhill until the finish. In Tsugaike Kogen’s lodging area traffic volume increases so watch out.

The finish point is the gondola station of Tsugaike Kogen Ski Resort, same as the Nishiyama Rinkan course. There are hot spring and footbath as well as food stalls, which is ideal for a break after finish.
