SUMMARY- COURSE OVERVIEW -
Challenge "Randonnées" of the village from the north end to south end!
SEASON : June to October
Diverting national roads R148, where heavy-duty vehicles frequent, the course runs through the south end to the north end of the village and can be utilized as access to Oami Himekawa Onsen course. Numerous ups and downs could be tough as a touring course, yet from several view points that show the entire valley and colourful autumn leaves are in October is breathtaking.

The departure point is nearMichi no Eki Otari (roadside station) along Route 148.

600 meters after the start comes the signboard showing Omachi · Hakuba area: fork right here toward Johoji temple.

On the right side of the road comes an onsen lodge where you can have delicious hand-made soba noodle during the day as well as taking a bath.

Matsugamine observatory is off the course from a branch after the temple. One of the 3 major landslides in Japan, Mt. Hieda’s Okuzure can be observed.

The descent continues from the point of about 5 km to the Urakawa bridge. Pay attention to excessive speed because the road is somewhat rough.

Go down the slope and cross the Urakawa bridge. Large vehicles may pass through the section from Urakawa Bridge crossing to Nishiyama Rindo (forest road). Ride carefully.

Finally into Nishiyama Rindo section. Rustic road with little traffic and no guardrail. Nevertheless be aware of unexpected encounter due to many blind corners.

The peak of the Nishiyama forest course is about 11 km. From the viewing point you can see the state of the village scattered in the valley of the steep mountain topography.

Towards the end of Nishiyama Rinkan section are rice terrace and soba fields. The finish point is the gondola station of Tsugaike Kogen Ski Resort, same as Hakuba Norikura course.
